Fender Jimi Voodoo Strat
Fender Jimi Voodoo Strat
Rare ultraviolet color, babied since purchased off reverb and seen very little playing time as I purchased a ‘69 relic custom shop voodoo strat shortly after. (jimi bug hit me hard). This thing is great, plays like butter and although im usually a fan of more satin necks this gloss neck feels super comfortable and effortless to play. Frets a glide like a dream and make bends super easy.
mods:
I kept the stock Fender ‘65 Grey bottom single coils cuz they sound awesome but added the 920D hazy wiring mod, which replaces all the pots with CTS pots and replaces the stock 5 way switch with a 3 way CRL switch. This lets you get 7 total pickup combinations, and with the non RWRP middle pickup u get some really cool out of phase sounds when blending in the middle pickup with the blender pot that replaces the bottom tone knob. Other tone pot is wired as master tone knob. Treble bleed circuit added to volume knob retains highs when u roll back the volume. I noticed a bit of hum so added copper shielding tape throughout inner cavities, and it cut back on white noise alot. Ill miss this thing but it deserves to be played! Also replaced the pickguard with a flatt teknologist laser engraved purple paisley wooden guard, it looks awesome with this in the ultraviolet paint job. Light surface scratches only nothing penetrating the mirror like poly finish. And yea im aware i strung the strings backwards lol.. noob reverse headstock mistake. Ill throw in a set of strings so you can fix this. Will leave these on with light tension to keep neck supported during shipping. Will include backplate and original pickguard in the gig bag it came with.
