1968 Fender Bassman
1968 Fender Bassman
Super cool looking and sounding vintage Fender Bassman, modified by the great Rob DeAntonio over at the ampshopnj.com. I purchased this used from a local music store and loved the huge clean tones and headroom it had. It came with the old school ungrounded 2 prong power cable and a bit of idle hum so brought it in for servicing.
Rob did an awesome job of listening to what I wanted out of this amp and customized it based on my desires. The first (British voiced) channel is modeled after the Marshall JTM and the mid switch will kick it more into JCM800 territory.
The second channel delivers all the huge and sparkly fender cleans you expect from a classic Bassman. He replaced all the old filter caps and resistors that needed replacement/drifted too far over time, added a 3 prong power cord, and a post phase inverter master volume which works great to let you play this monster at bedroom levels and get some nice gain at lower volumes as well. Depensing what speaker/config you select you can really hit a wide range of usable tones with this monster. Check the youtube video attached for a small range of lead tones.
